This camera setup is controlled over the internet with wireless communications. You can adjust the focus and aperture, zoom in and out, and rotate and swivel the lens up and down with keyboard control from anywhere in the world. Running entirely on solar energy at the camera end, the system is suited to observing wildlife, farm animals or pest species from the comfort of an office. Depending on the download speeds available, good colour video and audio signals are possible. A digital output channel can also be turned on or off, to trigger releases, noises or lights for example. Novel Ways staff assembled and own this unit, and it has helped us learn more about possum behaviour. It has also been evaluated at the Maungatautari Ecological Park. We see plenty of possibilities for many tourist attractions in NZ.
